I knew Russel from as far back as High School days. I last saw him about 1979 briefly - we were in different cities by that time. Only found out about AIDS after his death from the piece the ABC did on him at the time.

Yes, he was, still missed by all who knew him.
I believe he played with the Models on some of their gigs. Not sure if he recorded with them.
[it was Russel Handley that was furious about the NZ outfit being shifted to Oz – with good reason - and
it as a deliberate attempt to sabotage the Oz PopMx brand and Basilisk]
That was Russel. He was prepared to stand up and be counted.
Sounds like somebody should do a Basilisk/Doublethink compilation.
