…and now for something completely different! 1574 - 2022

We have a first entry each day that is a picture or a video, and only in that entry you can place your music links and requests (NO ALBUMS RELEASED IN 2020 AND AFTER, AND A DAILY LIMIT OF 3 ALBUMS)! Here you can say what you like, unless it's offensive, racist or discriminatory! Please keep your language polite and respectful. All the rest official posts will only allow comments related to the official posts and such. That way it will keep things much more organized and tidy. Enjoy! RYP and Gyro1966

A coda to the TOWNES VAN ZANDT story:

OLD SATAN (FINAL RECORDING SESSION 1996)
A warning – this could well be distressing listening. Townes was seriously ill, in great pain, but still wanted to record. The assembled musicians did their level best, but Townes was in no condition to play or sing. I think I found this posted on Bigozine several years back.
1./2./3. Old Satan 4. Sweet The Times (spoken) 5. Harm’s Swift Way 6. R.M. Too 7. Townes’s Blues 8. Snow Flake (spoken)
https://workupload.com/file/edaCaL77Nxd

DAVID BROZA NIGHT DAWN (THE UNPUBLISHED POETRY OF TOWNES VAN ZANDT)
https://www.discogs.com/master/811558-David-Broza-Night-Dawn-The-Unpublished-Poetry-Of-Townes-Van-Zandt
Includes versions of Old Satan and harm’s Swift Way from the above. The story goes that the Israeli musician Broza once met Townes at a Writers in the Round concert. Years later after Townes’ death he found Townes had left him a box full of unreleased lyrics and poems, asking him to set them to music. I know nothing further.
https://workupload.com/file/C7NmJJEZAz7

Finally I recommend John Kruth's biography of Townes To Live's To Fly.

Thanks.

I remember seeing Townes in Utrecht in november or december a few months before hé died. It was terrible to see him, mixing songlyrics, hardly be alle to talk. Hé still could sing but just barely. Ive never felt so depressed and sorry after a concert.

Norwegian Folk & Jazz on Sunday. Have a look & listen:

New songs about transformation, the big picture and our dependence on nature are presented by Solfrid Molland on her new album. Her voice and piano playing give her an intense presence, and she shares a unique poetic nerve with us.

The album also features Paal Flaata from Midnight Choir as guest vocalist, with Mats Eilertsen on double bass, Hayden Powell on trumpet, Torbjørn Økland on guitar and Nils Økland on fiddle. Sollfrid is another big discovery by the legendary Nowegian label 'Kirkelig Kulturverksted' (bought hundreds of records there).

Dear friends
A great comic strip cartoonist is dead : Jean-Claude Mézières.
He created VALÉRIAN, a very good science fiction comic serie, totally different of the american science fiction comics.
Georges Lucas took a lot of ideas in Valérian , for his saga star wars. Same thing for Luc Besson for the film "the 5th element".
If you ever have the chance to discover Valérian it's a very good serie.
