…and now for something completely different! 1577 - 2022

We have a first entry each day that is a picture or a video, and only in that entry you can place your music links and requests (NO ALBUMS RELEASED IN 2020 AND AFTER, AND A DAILY LIMIT OF 3 ALBUMS)! Here you can say what you like, unless it's offensive, racist or discriminatory! Please keep your language polite and respectful. All the rest official posts will only allow comments related to the official posts and such. That way it will keep things much more organized and tidy. Enjoy! RYP and Gyro1966

Eddy Mitchell – The French EPs

Starting in 1961 as the lead singer of France’s first rock ‘n’ roll band, “Les Chaussettes Noires” (The Black Socks) , Eddy Mitchell (real name Claude Moine) left them for good in December 1963 to pursue his solo career. He released twenty-six 4-track solo EPs in France between December 1962 and February 1970 (the first 6 while still being a member of Les Chaussettes Noires).

I have assembled them in a series of 4 compilations, the first 2 comprising 6 EPs each (24 tracks each) and the last 2 comprising 7 EPs each (28 tracks each).

As I only own 4 EPs by him (16 tracks), all other songs and images come from other sources. Consequently, quality varies.

All EPs were released on the Barclay label.

Artwork is included for all records (fronts, backs, labels).

Australian [and some New Zealand] Bands - The 2000s

Tha Babe Rainbow

Babe Rainbow is an Australian psychedelic rock band from Byron Bay, New South Wales. The band formed in 2014 and they released their first single later that year, Evolution 1964. The band is noted for their "throw-back" 1960s style of psychedelic rock along with their surf culture imagery. As of 2021, the band has released four full length albums, along with one EP. The band's later work ventures more into soft rock with influences from latin music, with Domingo being from Venezuela. The band has worked with fellow Flightless alumnus Stu Mackenzie of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard to produce their self-titled debut album, The Babe Rainbow. In July 2018, The Babe Rainbow's second studio album, Double Rainbow, debuted at no. 18 on the ARIA Albums Chart.

Searnav, Stinky -- anyone else
Sorry if I'm being a nuisance. It looks to me like my initial post didn't go through. Quite a while back I posted a couple of ? [Question Mark] and the Mysterians compilations of their 1960s music, including (of course) "96 Tears." it was mostly from their albums, but the 2nd one I posted had 3 songs they recorded under a couple of different names after their hits stopped coming. Somehow, my file with this material has disappeared. If someone can direct me to the date of posting, I can recreate my folder.

BILL TAYLOR SEVEN

For people who like songs that
were released in mono or not great
stereo, my friend Bill Taylor spent 8
hours plus per song to turn them to
good stereo and make all the instruments
and voices incredibly clear. If you
have a nice sound system you will
be pleased.

@Teddy-Bu - Re: missing djmcblues2 comps

Saw that djmcblues2 posted today but didn't respond, so I'm guessing he may not have seen your request. So I have the answers you seek!

* I believe that he couldn't find It's A Crime part 2 or John's 45's part 1.
* To the best of my knowledge, Dan Does Flips part 1 is also known as Flips From Dan. Dan can correct me if that's wrong (and then hopefully upload Dan Does Flips 1 'cause I don't have that one! ;)
* Here is a re-up of Little Known Tunes 2

Thanks for Guadalcanal Diary, live, nice show. I Saw them live in Athens, Georgia that is, in September 1989 at a festival. By chance I was in Athens playing rugby against UGA Bulldogs and the Blind Pigs RFC that day, and my rugby-mates convinced me to stay overnight for a night of drinking and debauchery having not tied the knot yet it was a crazy night, that got crazier, at one point I left our group and with a team-mate and a bunch of co-eds and ended up at this music festival and saw Guadalcanal Diary, with no idea who they were but boy we had a great time.
Cheers RugbyLad
