…and now for something completely different! 1562 - 2022
We have a first entry each day that is a picture or a video, and only in that entry you can place your music links and requests (NO ALBUMS RELEASED IN 2020 AND AFTER, AND A DAILY LIMIT OF 3 ALBUMS)! Here you can say what you like, unless it's offensive, racist or discriminatory! Please keep your language polite and respectful.
All the rest official posts will only allow comments related to the official posts and such. That way it will keep things much more organized and tidy.
Enjoy! RYP and Gyro1966

SOMETHING DIFFERENT
This evening in Germany is the usual time when Microsoft offers the new Windows Updates. You should install these updates and tomorrow will be a good time for the updated Windows Defender for checking your WHOLE system. Not the usual fast check, but the complete check of all your hard drives, running for hours, but you can work on while the Defender (or your personal Anti-Virus system) is checking your PC.
Why do i say this? What we are doing here isn't without any risque. And some people say that they have discovered a Trojan or a Virus (wright or wrong, don't know it). Actually there are so many attacks in the net and so many articles about new threats, that it makes sense doing a complete check.
Personally I'm trying to fix and recover the systems of two gaming PC's. Those friends are doing the same as us, with games instead of music. And their systems are corrupted.
And the last reason is: You should prove yourself twice a year that you are still the sole master of your system. And I mean Apple users too. The days that only Windows users were affected are long gone. Since 2017 Apple is more infected than in all the years before. Old Lenin once said: trusting is good, controlling is better.
Most of the classical pieces I am familiar with (apart from the Shostakovitch I posted before Christmas) I have met in films. Here are some:

2. Maurice Ravel – Bolero
3. Johann Strauss – The Blue Danube Waltz (from 2001)

5. Claude Debussy – La Cathédale Engloutie
6. Erik Satie – Trois Gymnopédies (from Terry Malick’s 1st film, Badlands, although I had heard 1 & 3 on the 2nd Blood Sweat & Tears LP)

"Why not to put a search? I had always argue that. This would searching bands or album more much easier." Hmm look top left it s there!
@ sambgodot:
Thanks for the Barry Lyndon. I hadn't heard that in about 40 years.
@sambgodot,
Thank you for the Clockwork Orange soundtrack. You must be psychic because I was just thinking a couple of days ago that I hadn't heard it for ages and wondering if I had it. Now I have!
I've been downloading files from this blog for years and years - including several downloads which other users have warned to contain virus'.
I run a virus scan from time to time. I have NEVER (ever) downloaded a suspicious or infected file from Twilight-Zone. Not a single time.
The search bar only searches top level posts. It does not search the comments. And of course, there is a ton of juicy material in the "now for something completely different" comments section, which can't be searched from the main page search bar. I don't think that is any different on most, if not all blogs I've visited.
Although there is no way to search user uploads in comments section, this is a great community. There are few requests that go unanswered.
So, even if you can't search for it and even if you can't find it, chances are some kind soul will provide you with a link for whatever it is your heart desires!
Is anyone else having trouble downloading the last few installments of Professor RnR's Billboard 1966? I'm not talking about the "Quota exceeded" messages, although those do seem to have gotten more frequent lately. But with parts 66-69, even when I don't get "quota exceeded", I can't download. I either get a blank page (with Firefox) or a 403 "You don't have authorization to view this page" (with Chrome).
Apesville, that is a blog search inside blogspot and not a band search inside this blog. Thanks all the sharers.
Apesville that is a blog search in blogspot and not a band search box inside this blog.
@Alfred As usual I am a few days behind but I did want to thank you for the Michel Polnareff box in flac. I know it was a lot of work for you - hopefully it made some other people happy as well. Thanks again.
@Gaius
Thank you for your thoughts. However, I have control of my system 24x7, 365 days of the year not just twice a year and any serious user of the Internet should aim to do the same. Its not just a twice a year activity. All sorts of damage could be done in the interim six months if left to a twice yearly audit.
The basic reality is that any time one accesses the internet one is 'at risk'. Virtually every site you visit has been infected by the stalkers of Stillacon Valley (Microsoft, Google, Twitter, Facebook etc and a whole host of others) who whether you like it or not dump their profiling software on your machine and do their best to stalk you wherever you might surf and they do so for profit and its through those breaches in your computer privacy that malcontents and malfeasants are most likely to attempt to access your system or alternatively through your e-mail (because everybody uses them).
As a result people should be monitoring their systems ongoing and cleaning and clearing them up on a regular basis and doing so with far more effective tools than the primitive Defender. Furthermore, by using structured management of that system one should also be able to maintain clean areas that one does not have to check (rather than wasting many hours unnecessarily checking them on a periodic basis for no good reason).
As for downloading music in 20 years or more of downloading (many Tb of music) I have yet to come across an infected download so the risk, whilst existant, is relatively minor compared to other online risks. Simply put such a passive manner of infection with such limited infection ability (most music downloads have a reach of just hundreds or low thousands of people - interactive gaming has a much greater reach) that it usually isn't worth the hackers time or effort to infect them.
Anyway good luck with your bi-annual checks. No doubt it will mitigate any risques you might face.

@Phantom of the Opera
Congratulation, your PC is really safe.
Most people I know, don't do anything else than letting their Defender or Anti-Virus software running a fast check. This usually happens every or every second day. If everybody around here would answer my question: When did you make a complete check of all your hard drives at least, what do you think will be the answer with regard to the last 6 months? This was nothing else but a proposal, stimulated by what I've seen recently on the gamer's laptops.
Susan Dominus -
If you have a Google gmail account, make sure you are logged in and you will be able to access the download as it apparently is tied to Google Drive. If you don't have a gmail account, get one if only for just this purpose, you won't have any problem downloading the Professor's files.

only searches MAIN posts
If the talk here is about searching comments on T-Zone, there is a way to do that, at least on a Mac.
Open comments page, hit 'command' and 'F' keys, type what you're looking for in the search box that opens up. (You may need to re-enter what you're looking for to get the items to highlight that you are searching).
cj
"Open comments page, hit 'command' and 'F' keys, type what you're looking for in the search box"
I think the original request was trying to state that a general search of ALL Comments was desired. It would be rather tedious opening each Comment page individually and CTRL-F, without knowing if the item even exists.
e.g. search "The Undertakers"
currently that would only return results from the main blog posts by our Administrators, not within a comment posted three months ago.
The solution is more complicated than my minimal Blog skills can acquire.
Ok, didn't quite know the gist of what was asked. BUT, i personally have searched each comment page to find something, but i had an idea of the date that I needed to search, and i knew what i was searching...so, i guess that's where i was coming from.
