...Jeremy lays out the story in detail in this post at SurfGuitar101 that I would highly recommend reading. Location is a strangely important thing in surf music -- certain styles tied to historic locales, and yet today the community communicates on a global scale. Surf releases were once guarded by costly import fees, now bandcamp makes releases more global. And now here we are, an album composed by members thousands of miles apart from each other -- not without difficulty but with a result that sounds as focused and genuine as any band with weekly rehearsals. This is definitely a surf album, though the general feel is spacey, explorative and imaginative -- with bouts of serious intensity and gushing sparkle. Aside from the bands already mentioned, Space Cossacks and Tomorrowmen come to mind, but then you've also got a few that buck the spacey trend, like "Dirty Spurs" with sharp acoustic guitar that immediately puts you edge, boosted by aggressive guitar, boosted even further as it sweeps upwards. It's envigorating!

Fine example of classic 60s Texan garage rock from a fun suburban bunch playing British invasion & R&B inspired covers of the day. Note: this is actuality not entirely live - by the band's own admission it was recorded mostly at Robin Hood's Studio in Tyler, Texas with crowd noises from the club added in. Still - piping hot! The original version of the album (only 500 printed apparently) was described by Rolling Stone magazine as "one of the most collectible American albums" ever distributed. Garage rock that sounds like it was recorded in the 60s. The Ogres not only have that trashy garage R&B sound, but also a great album title: The Acrid and Misanthropic Sounds of The Ogres. It doesnt take long to hear the 60s sound. "Aint That Love" contains some excellently trashy guitar sounds as well as an organ that sounds like its straight out of the mid-60s. Speaking of that mid-60s sound: "Youre My Baby" has that in spades. This one bring Question Mark and the Mysterians to mind.

...also received at home a replacement copy of Krave On by Medway stalwarts The Kravin ‘A’s - wolf howard, johnny barker, Allan Crockford and glen prangnell whose various medway CVs include stints with the likes the Prisoners, Goodchilde, Daggermen, JTQ, Offbeats etc. It’s a great 1990’s pop album with a genuine 1960’s feel. My first exposure to the L.A. punk scene was through the soundtrack to the 1984 movie Repo Man. This scene would be documented much more extensively in the movie The Decline of Western Civilization, but there is some overlap. I watched Repo Man when it aired sometime in the 80’s on late night USA Network when I was in my early teens and it opened a whole world up to me–junk culture, beer swilling angry punks and aliens. The soundtrack has the amazing Iggy Pop theme song and bands like The Plugz, Black Flag, The Circle Jerks, Fear and Suicidal Tendencies. - by Michael RoederMar 25, 2013

I Fat Tones was born in Italy in 2013. They play genuine 50’s and 60’s Surf, Twist and Exotica music. Their first LP “i Fat Tones” was released in 2017. They partecipate to Surfer Joe Summer Festival 2018 and 2019. During the 2020 they release “Quarantones”, a collection of revisited covers and viral phenomena, all home-recorded.
