Double Naught Spy Car "Moof" 2017

Double Naught Spy Car asked some of our favorite adventurous musicians to collaborate on a guest artiste project. We got together at Marc Doten's studio in Echo Park with:
Ben Vaughn, Woody Aplanalp, Mike Watt, Danny McGough, Sylvia Juncosa, Chris Lawrence, Joe Baiza, Vince Meghrouni, Carlos Alvidrez, and Elvis Kuehn...
...We and our guest jammed and bludgeoned an instrumental tune out of the air, recording it the next day; or sometimes all in one day. We recorded tracks for out of town guests Nels Cline, Sara Ardizzoni, and Joe Gore to overdub. As we'd hoped, each guest fully brought their powerful playing and unique approaches to our Spy Car world.
The tracks have a big stylistic range, reflecting the impact these amazing musicians have had on pop and experimental music: The Minutemen, Firehose, Wilco, FIDLAR, Saccharine Trust, Bobby Womack, Bo Diddley, Lauryn Hill, Banyan, Rickie Lee Jones, PJ Harvey, Tom Waits, Alex Chilton, Roxy Music, Willy DeVille, Continental Drifters, Social Distortion, To Damascus, The Adolescents, El Grupo Sexo, Universal Congress Of, The Fibonaccis. To name a few. We hope you dig it!
