The Paladins "El Matador" 2003

The Paladins are one of the few bands out there to still continually tour and play roots music. Go to the shows. Support it. There are very few bands like this out there that are this accessible. Do your part.

"Like the Blasters, The Paladins continue to play roots music, from rockabilly, early rock'n'roll, rockin' blues, western swing and jumpin' jive. This cd covers all of these generes. If you like the early 50's Sun Records sessions, you'll love this cd, the music sounds like Sun stuff from the early 50's. Most of this cd is straight up rockabilly and some rockin' blues, and a little honky tonk western swing, in Hank Willaims Sr. tradition. The bands sparse trio sound of Guitar, slap stand up bass and Drums is true to the instrumentation of the 50's rockabilly bands. I saw this band last evening at the Doll Hut in Anahein, and they played many songs from this cd, it is without a doubt thier finest release yet (and that's saying a lot).
