We have a first entry each day that is a picture or a video, and only in that entry you can place your music links and requests (NO ALBUMS RELEASED IN 2020 AND AFTER, AND A DAILY LIMIT OF 3 ALBUMS)! Here you can say what you like, unless it's offensive, racist or discriminatory! Please keep your language polite and respectful.
All the rest official posts will only allow comments related to the official posts and such. That way it will keep things much more organized and tidy.

Old School Punk - Sucked Too Good 1 - 77-early 80s
Punk that's rockin' and catchy...the way God intended. Trying to keep it to songs people might not have heard before.
https://www.mediafire.com/file/2hrfxz01t3m7h5b/PSTG1.rar/file
-------------------------------------------------
And to keep the balance of the music universe here is something from the other side of the spectrum.
1980s Quirky Guys and Space Girls
https://www.mediafire.com/file/3j6qzhgqewhk5de/QGSG.rar/file
By quirky I mean weird and in general pretty funny. King Missile, They Might Be Giants, Camper Van Beethoven, Jonathan Richman is what I mean along with some other quirky bands.
And by space girls I mean Bjork, Cocteau Twins, Kate Bush and Scarlet Johansson's songs from her Tom Waits tribute album done over-the-top space girl style back before she sold out to Hollywood. What you think of it probably depends on how you feel about Tom Waits...or Scarlet Johansson.
-----------------------------------------------------
And last, but not least...Laurie Anderson's brilliant, epic 4 album length magnum opus. Because she is a bit of quirky guy and space girl in one package. Along with the weird yet oddly catchy avant-garde electronics, this is pretty funny and entertaining. This is the one with "O Superman".
Laurie Anderson - United States Live I-IV
https://www.mediafire.com/file/0not9mtcrppdn0k/LAUSL.rar/file
---------------------------------------------------
Yes, I know most people here probably aren't into this kind of stuff, but to me quirky guys and space girls just go together. A sort of yin/yang of indie/alternative or something. I just imagine the quirky guy with a cute space girl girlfriend for some reason.
As the quirky guy asks in the song "Letter To A Fanzine"
Why do punk rock guys go out with new wave girls?
and...
Isn't Nick Cave a genius in a sense?

I don't know if I should post this, but I go for it, and hope my english are understandable.
I've been a fan of this site since the mid 2010's, through periods over the years I've been active in postnig my own mixtapes (sometimes an odd album or two). I think it's a totally unique site in many ways, one of it's kind (in a positive way) on "the web". I'm very happy that TZ still alive after 14 years, an amazing trip.
Members and active people in the "forum" has come and go over the years, that's how it should be for the vitality I think. To me, the site is still a tickling experience (almost) every day when I visited it, the genres are many on the main page, hand-picked odd and rare releases from the popular music hisory by the enthusiasts behind the site, made for other enthusiasts without any own gains. Very groovy.
In the forum you also see a wide spectra of (almost only) obscure, well hidden or forgotten releases from the 1920's to this date. Some people shares their own mega projects and have put an enormous work behind them, some people only share their own mixtapes or are specialized in different genres or groups. Very beautiful and touching I think.
Some people never shared anyhting, don't write anything in the comment fields, just hanging around like ghosts, that's fine to. Some people only ask for a hard to find album or specific unique recording.
Sadly some people are very greedy in their wants, some are rude or have a bad behaviour in their comments about specific posts (wrong genre, wrong bitrate, wrong named file, etc). But all over I think most people have a great attitude in here and respect the rules of the site, both with sharing and asking for wants. That's great. I think 3 albums/links each day is cool, a great deal. Before the restictions, I find that the forum went bananas, it went too far by sharings. We should remeber that this ain't a typical file sharing or torrent site, if you want those you find them quickly when give google a search.
I think Gyro and RYP makes a great job with TZ, it's a wonderful place to be involved in and visit for nerds and serious folks like me interested in music. We should thank them for their work more often. And off course respect their rules, so the site can keep on. For many of us, the world would be a paler existence without TZ.
I also would like to thank many of the regulars who sharing, for their passionate work, for their kindness and (very) quick help while asking for a piece of music that's gone lost in some way. Very beutiful, how people help each other in here. :-)
Keep on keepin' on!
I made the two mixtapes below many some years ago, I don't remeber if I shared them back then, but I think they work out pretty good even today. I made them as a compliment to Soul Jazz Records then ongoing Krautrock-series, but i compiled songs with a more funky and groovy vibe instead of their regular "prog/krat/space rock". I think Germany had a mindblowing and unique sound in the 1970's rock, jazz, electronics, etc, almost mysterios. And their own "funk" as well. The music below is both experimental AND funky. ;-) Clebreate the artists, and give those boys and girls a hug and thank them if you come in touched with them! Have a great day!

Mexican punk surf!
Lost Acapulco - Acapulco Golden (Album Completo)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qi1_sw3EHqE
[ The album was worked on in the studio by
Leonardo de Lozanne and Jorge Amaro "La Chiquis"; who took risks with surf, garage, swing, rockabilly, punk and everything that reverberates or could create sound waves in the body.
The performances at the Alicia were by word of mouth, creating the rumor of the defeña band that played surfing and also wore wrestler masks, like their friends the
Straitjackers, with whom they played in 2005 in the Zócalo of Mexico City.

@Ramone 666 + Peter Walker
It's unbelievable that this man is forgotten. He's a master on guitar:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DlVUtKR20o
Born in 1938 in Boston, MA. His music often referenced Flamenco and Indian classical forms. Walker was a central figure in the Greenwich Village folk scene of the sixties, where he was particularly close to Karen Dalton and Sandy Bull. His debut LP "Rainy Day Raga" was released by Vanguard Records in 1966, followed by the release of "Second Poem" in 1968. In 2007 he was coaxed out of retirement by the Tompkins Square label.
Here's his second album from the late 60's

@Aaron Vincent
Well said and thanks for saying it!
And even more importantly, thanks to Gyro and RYP for this great space.
Best to all,
Skinny
@Aaron Vincent
Can only agree with you. Well written.
I agree with Carrot Top on the quirky. It helps stretch the boundries of what is, could be, should be, and maybe even shouldn't be. I believe comedy does the same thing. Here is a set of very avant quirky covers you might enjoy from Morgan Fisher.

To Gaius,
Peter Walker has not been forgotten. I remembered hearing his LPs in the 70s and sought them out on the net. While I can't say that I dl'd none from Russia (not at war then), there is definitely some danger from Russian sites. It's not about the music. Just my opinion. The following is what I found.
--------------
6574 - PETER WALKER - Has Anybody Seen Our Freedoms_ (2013)
Peter walker - Oct. in Woodstock
Peter walker - 1970 Tapes
Peter walker - Echo of My Soul
Peter Walker - Landed
Peter Walker - Long Lost Tapes 1970
Peter walker - Nylon And steel
Peter Walker - Second Poem to Karmela or Gypsies Are Important
Peter Walker - Spanish Guitar
Peter walker - Young Gravity
Peter walker / The Harmony Rockets - Lachesis _ Clotho _ Atropos (2018)
Peter Walker with Jack Rose - live on dublab (11.19.06).mp3
Peter Walker...Rainy Day Raga(1967)[FLAC]
@Aaron Vincent:
I agree with all you said in your nice comment about Twilightzone.

@Gaius
Thanks for the heads-up! :-) I wouldn't know as I usually only visit here for the you tube video at the top of the page.

... just jokin'... ;-)
To be honest, I have more music already on vinyl than I will ever be able to listen to again in my lifetime. Actually the MAIN thing that makes me come here on a regular basis is the fact that I can see other people out there who really care for all the old stuff that I care about. Thos for some reason makes me feel good.

As someone said yesterday, there is only 1-8. And the 100 series already provided. Like the other hyped to death series, they essentially released much the same thing twice. First the 1-8 (alphabetically), then later re-released them grouped by region. So all that you are missing is 1-8.
Thanks to Aaron Vincent for saying what we all find ourselves thinking on a regular basis.
Thanks to Gary Field for more Kinks!
Thanks for the Laurie Anderson and Quirky stuff.
Hard to laugh about the dangers of Russian sites. I never got a subpoena from the DOJ from them.
@Gary Field: Thanks for the new Kinks stuff
Thanks Aaron for the Krautfunk comp and your heartfelt words about this wonderful site.

Look i had volume 1 to 108 maybe 9-99 someone had compiled themselves, i gave a full copy to a mate who has since died and i have no idea what happened with his hard drives etc, and i don't live in that area anymore, so can't trace them via him.
I had hard drive failure and lost my copy of them all, thought someone on TZ might have been able to help, i can't trace the two American blog sites that i download then from, it took me ages to get the whole 108 volumes (official or unofficial) as they may have been, but know there was 108 of them
Pete
Thanks Gary loving all these posts and to all the T Zone crew :)
