…and now for something completely different! 1714 - 2022

These arrogant fucking politicians, warlords and religious don't give a fuck about us, they only pretend! Go to hell! They don't know that they are as superfluous as telephone disinfectors and hairdressers! It is to cry for! - RYP

We have a first entry each day that is a picture or a video, and only in that entry you can place your music links and requests (NO ALBUMS RELEASED IN 2020 AND AFTER, AND A DAILY LIMIT OF 3 ALBUMS)! Here you can say what you like, unless it's offensive, racist or discriminatory! Please keep your language polite and respectful. All the rest official posts will only allow comments related to the official posts and such. That way it will keep things much more organized and tidy. Enjoy! RYP and Gyro1966

Desi Arnaz

Desiderio Alberto Arnaz y de Acha III (March 2, 1917 – December 2, 1986) was a Cuban-born American actor, bandleader, and film and television producer. He played Ricky Ricardo on the American television sitcom I Love Lucy, in which he co-starred with his then-wife Lucille Ball. Arnaz and Ball are credited as the innovators of the syndicated rerun, which they pioneered with the I Love Lucy series.

The Camp, The Kitsch or The Ugly?

A collection of 50s/60s stuff. Is it camp? Is it Kitschy? Just plain weird and cheesy? I don't know. But these songs actually sound good to me as music and make me smile and strangely happy the way other music does not.

https://www.mediafire.com/file/opci9vmm57x3odr/KColl1.rar/file

-------------------------------------------------

To continue with the kitsch theme...

1960s Elvis

I actually like the music Elvis made in the 60s from all his corny, dumbass movies more than his 50s rock n roll. Sue me...

Elvis Presley - Fun In Acapulco - 1963

Summer is coming. Get your favorite lawn chair and put it outside on your lawn, backyard or the sidewalk in front of your tenement. Put on a Hawaiian shirt and get comfortable with it. Get crazy. You know, unbutton it more than it should be unbuttoned. Pour half a bottle of vodka in a strawberry milkshake for refreshment. Then, take a seat in the sun with your suavest looking sunglasses on and put your speakers in the window and blast this album.

The block party will start instantly. Guaranteed or your money back.

ROBIN WILLIAMSON - THE DEAR MOON

@320: https://workupload.com/file/KKGzPrrkXfe

The Incredible String Band's first album was one of the weirdest and most exciting things I had ever heard when it came out in 1966. I first heard it at Les Cousins folk club in Wardour Street, Soho, London and, not long after, saw ISB in person there.

I really liked the first 5 albums, but Robin's contribution was much more to my taste than Mike's. And reviewing their early work with the benefit of 50 plus years hindsight I still feel the same way, only more so.

I've put together a compilation of Robin WIlliamson's best songs for my own enjoyment and thought I might as well share it here. These songs are of such strangeness that you can only wonder what the heck he was on.

If psych folk is your thing then this is it, full strength. There has been nothing like it, before or since.

01 God Dog
02 The Mad Hatter's Song
03 October Song
04 Koeeoaddi There
05 The Half-Remarkable Question
06 Dandelion Blues
07 The Yellow Snake
08 Witches Hat
09 Womankind
10 Waltz of the New Moon
11 The Water Song
12 The Iron Stone

A FLAC version is available on my bulletin board, here:

where you can also find all my other compilations.

Here's 3 mixtapes with covers. The originals belongs to my all time favs, and the cover versions below is the favs of them, some of them is actually better than the originals I think. I don't know if Lyle Lovett's Step Inside This House is a cover, because Guy Clark never released the song by himself under his lifetime, and the same with Lone Justice Ways To Be Wicked, Tom Petty gave it away to them and released his own version on the Playback box many years later (I think), trivial matters maybe. Support the original artists and the acts who made these fabulous covers as well. Have a sunny sunday. Cheers.

Here's:

Zac Brown Band - Live From Atlanta 08.25.06

"This concert was the first headlining show for the Zac Brown Band at Atlanta's legendary Variety Playhouse in Little Five Points. It was also a "homecoming show", as the band had just returned from their first lengthy cross-country tour. The concert sold out 3 days before the curtain dropped. With 1,100+ excited fans in attendance it was the biggest show the band had played yet. This historic event in the group's career symbolized a turning point for the band and signified the graduation of the Zac Brown Band from "bar band" to headlining status."

I captured the audio from the dvd and chopped it up in audacity. Not perfect, but pretty solid quality. Enjoy!

@ Aaron Vincent
Thanks for your compilation of groovy krautrock. I just had time to listen to the first 3 songs, but I've enjoyed what I've heard .

@ RYP
Thanks for your fantastic blog and as allways for the video that you offer to us each day. Some days, I have just time to watch to the video, but it's allways with pleasure.

Here is a video for you, this is not Jacques Tati....but an ancient president of France : Jacques Chirac ! First , he takes the hand of a politic woman and say that she can't continue to stand up. His wife is just behind him, but he makes the woman sit at his left.
Then, while she is reading her political speech, he whispers at the ear of the woman.....I'm allways laughing when his wife turns back and also for what he makes with his face when she comes back and sit at his right
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7ccFWSa568
PS : at the beginning the man at his right is François Hollande, future president of France, who is also laughing.

And here is a bonus :
