Radio Birdman "Radios Appear" 1978
This is primal (and prime) Radio Birdman, with Deniz Tek and Rob Younger firmly ensconced in the eye of this guitar-fueled hurricane. Tek's originals are pretty strong, especially the grimy tale of urban desolation "Murder City Nights" and the noisy freak-out "Descent into the Maelstrom." One of Australia's great rock & roll bands in all of their glory! - Radios Appear Review by John Dougan
Reissue of this classic 1977 album from the Australian Punk band featuring Deniz Tek and Rob Younger. Record labels were eager to place Radio Birdman in the then-new context of late-'70s Punk - somewhat inaccurately considering the band's long hair and technical skill - so WEA picked up Radios Appear for distribution after it's initial mail-order release on the Trafalgar imprint. Then, legendary Sire boss Seymour Stein saw Radio Birdman while visiting Australia to sign the Saints, and resolved to re release Radios Appear internationally with a different track order and particular overdubs. This version is presented here, as heard by so many late-'70s youth before starting bands of their own and citing Radios Appear as an influence in interviews to come. - amazon

Thanks! Radio Birdman have always been one of my top favourite bands.
Saw them back in the day in Edmonton, Alberta! (Yes, they toured the backwaters of North America).
Then again for the Zeno Beach tour in Tronna. Top show. Afterwards, the guys were super cool, and came out and met & talked with their fans.
Also saw Deniz Tek solo in a tiny dive venue in Toronto.
All are indelible memories.
