…and now for something completely different! 1617 - 2022

These arrogant fucking politicians don't give a fuck about us! They don't know that they are as superfluous as telephone disinfectors and hairdressers! It is to cry for! - RYP

We have a first entry each day that is a picture or a video, and only in that entry you can place your music links and requests (NO ALBUMS RELEASED IN 2020 AND AFTER, AND A DAILY LIMIT OF 3 ALBUMS)! Here you can say what you like, unless it's offensive, racist or discriminatory! Please keep your language polite and respectful. All the rest official posts will only allow comments related to the official posts and such. That way it will keep things much more organized and tidy. Enjoy! RYP and Gyro1966

@Den Bear Yesterday + Caro Emerald

[I think, that's a little bit the problem of USA and UK, being fixed on their own artists. The hardly can't believe that there is good quality music somewhere else in the world. Those of you who are following my shared albums here on TZ know that they'll get music from very different places of the world, Canada, Scandinavia, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Oz and the whole stuff from Earthquake Country New Zealand. And I think Den, that's the reason why you're around here.]

I agree wholeheartedly, but there is so much good music that you left out 3 whole continents in your list! Asia, South America and Africa.

Here is a punkabilly band - I think from Italy? that we haven't heard from here yet.
I don't really thank the name of the band or even the name of the first song, needs translation.

Sometimes inspiration comes from unexpected sources. I found this clip and it just seemed so appropriate for the times. There is something about a man in a Marine uniform singing the phrase "to fight the unbeatable foe" that struck a chord with me.

I did think of Ukraine and how, in the Cold War era we may have had a radio station broadcasting similar tunes to the besieged populace.

Re: Today's Music Of The Seventies post

One thing that I didn't know and the Discogs reference doesn't mention is that the White Horse band is a Billy Nicholls project.

"Written and recorded in 1977 for Capitol Records in Los Angeles, Billy teamed up with writers Jon Lind and Kenny Altman, plus an impressive line-up of heavyweight musicians, including Jeff Porcaro, Paul Barrere, Russ Kunkel, Fred Tackett, Bill Payne, Reggie Knighton, Doug Livingston and Caleb Quaye."

@Al Agave, You're referring, of course, to Radio Free Europe, whose fundraising commercials were the best thing they did.

As to playing "inspiring music" a la Jim Nabors as Gomer Pyle, maybe it's just my own tastes (listening to that I'm inspired to block up my ears), but I think that would be best employed to be played at Russian troops at full volume to get them to surrender (see US forces' tactics vis a vis Noriega).
