Not only do they not give a fuck about us but they view themselves as being above the rules and laws that we all expected to follow. Donald Trump once said that he could murder someone in the middle of 5th Avenue and get away with it. That might be the last time he actually told the truth.
While I always have been cynical when it comes to political, cultural and religious leaders. Or for that matter, authority figures in general. I have never been a revolutionary. At the age of 70 there is no way I am going to take to the streets and rebel. The people that I see who are more politically active than I am and willing to do that, many of them are just as manipulative, closed-minded and controlling as the politicians we have now. As Pete Townshend once said "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss".
I've come to the conclusion that all I can do is to take care of my own tiny little corner of the world and not worry about what anyone else does. I try to take care of myself and my husband as best I can and be compassionate, kind, and generous to others so that I can like the person I see when I look in the mirror. Unfortunately I can do no more. But I wanted to let you know that I feel your angst and you are not alone.

You have 70 + albums by Ian Matthews! I like the guy. One reviewer said he picks all the right songs but records them all wrong. Ooompf! I would enjoy some of his solo material that you consider his best. I have the Fairport, Southern Comfort, and Plainsong titles.
With so much material, it would take a couple months to do it all and I can understand why you'd be reluctant so begin such a venture.

Have you ever seen John Cale live? I saw him several times, at least around 2008 or 2010. I couldn't say, he plays his viola. It was kind of fighting, hate and love relationship, maltreating and destroying songs. That's the way I came up with this 'crushing in'. But the album is a very fine one.
