Founded by Harry Glenn, Mar-Vel' Records released an array of rockabilly, western, swing and country. This compilation celebrates the man and the music he purveyed, concentrating on the decade between 1952 and 1962. So if you're looking for music with character look no further, with tracks from the likes of Harry Carter, Billy Nix, Rem Wall and the Beverley Sisters.

Following @kevinpat way i'll leave in this entry this genuine Groovie rare jewel originally posted and served by Angelo in his unvaluable blog Power Pop Criminals...the original link is cold dead but with a little touch & time..here it is...Last-to-date available Groovie stuff...
THE FLAMIN' GROOVIES - "LIVE ON THE CHERRY BLOSSOM CLINIC" (LIVE WFMU RADIO BROADCAST) + "END OF THE WORLD" (Advance track of the then forthcoming new mini-album...retarded by Cyril Jordan's disease & recovery time) (2013)

In 2013, the Jordan/Wilson/Alexander line-up played live for the first time since 1981 in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth as part of the Hoodoo Gurus' invitational Dig It Up. They also played a series of sold-out shows in Japan. Their show in San Francisco, at The Elbo Room on May 4, sold out in less than 24 hours. They are currently touring, with the addition of Victor Penalosa (Shambles, Melanies) on drums.
On November 16th, the band was recorded live for this broadcast on WFMU on The Cherry Blossom Clinic with Terre T.
A new six-song EP will be out in early 2014. "End of the World," the first song from the release, is the first Jordan/Wilson penned tracked in over 30 years, and it picks up where they left off. (Notes by Angelo, the original sharer. Thanks again)
At present date the Flamin Groovies announce new tour with dates in Spain for June...Happy to see them back again!! LOVE ALWAYS the Groovies!!
Enjoy!!

And all J.Fogerty covers,especialy soul,blues,country...PS Sorry for bad english
Tanx again!
A great big boppin' thanks for the Glenn/Mar-Vel compilation. It is my observation that, generally, posts of more recent or more rock oriented music generate more comments than one such as this.
Personally, I just love this 'melting pot' era of American music.
Just thought I'd mention it.
Thanks again.

@ralph11
If you want comments then you have to post the hottest/fastest rock & roll around. But I don't let the lack of comments deter me. I post a few off the beaten track albums each week and get maybe a comment or two. But the first day 150 downloads. The next, the same. And stuff I posted three months ago still gets downloaded. I started visiting TWILIGHTZONE! about three years ago and I'm still amazed and often blown away by the whole wide world (www.) this blog attracts. Amazing.
Awesome comp , thanks Gyro
Señor Diego:
What you describe is the web's virality in action. In the case of the TZ and its music fans, a very good thing. And yes, I've loved some of your more off-the-wall contributions without remembering to say thank you.
@Johnny D
I'm curious. Where can you see how many hits (downloads) you get on a given link.
Ralph11
Many, Many thanks to the Twilightzone crew for all of the great music and knowledge!!
LhasaCrawler
I have to say I'm often guilty of downloading without leaving a comment, but I appreciate the TZ very much. As for Mr. Diego in particular, I do share his tastes in music (and find his reflections
interesting and entertaining to read).
