The autumn was spent playing in many parts of the country, where new material from the upcoming album was tested, so that the band's fans had started to get to know the unreleased songs, in parallel with that tour, work was done to finish the album, which was released in the autumn and bore the band's name, but is sometimes called the "red plate". The album consisted of twelve songs, and there was a lot going on, as saxophonist Jens and bassist Friðrik came in strong, Jens as the songwriter of two songs and Friðrik the author of three lyrics. Previously, the album's first song, Færðu mær ðir had been released on the compilation album Forskot á sæluna and was therefore heard and seen on the radio and on the Pepsi list, where it reached the top spot for the third week, in addition to Sálverjar performing the song on Hemma Gunn's TV show . Let me be, Nothing changes that and Tár er tár were added to the Pepsi list and the Icelandic list. Then the album went to the top of the album sales list in the second week and stayed there for the longest time of the Christmas season, as it sold over 10,000 copies, it received excellent reviews in Vikunni and very good ones in DV, Morgunblaðin and Þjóðwillin. In Æskunn's year-end results, everything was as expected, the band was in the top places as the most popular band, album, singer and instrumentalist (Guðmundur)...
...The soul played a lot during the Christmas season and i.a. at a concert at Púlsinum by Vitastíg just before Christmas that was broadcast live on Rás 2 and recorded also with a release in mind later, the band then closed the year with a New Year's dance at Nillabar and then went on vacation. However, the holiday was only about three weeks, because in the second half of January 1992, the friends were back at full speed and then also went on a short Scandinavian tour, but Where's my destiny? was then released there in February.
These mischievous experiments of the band led to an acquaintance with Pétur Kristjánsson (Pelican, Paradís, Start etc.) who, together with Steinar Berg and others, was one of the owners of PS músík and worked on the export of Icelandic music. As spring approached, Pétur began to perform with the band at balls, as the band had then recorded a song based on his famous phrases, and Pétur himself sang the accompaniment in the opus, which had been named Krókurinn. Two other songs were recorded around the same time, Hjá yér and Sodóma, but the latter song was used in the film Sodóma Reykjavík, which premiered that summer. The three songs together with the eight songs of the band that had previously only been released on compilation albums (reworked in part), were then released in May on the LP Garg, which at the time was a kind of compilation album, this was the first time that an album with the band was not released on vinyl. Later in the summer, a video tape was released with all the band's main songs and additional material, also under the name Garg.
The annual tour of the Soul around the country started at the end of May, but since the beginning of the year the band had been mostly in the capital area and at school balls, this summer the band played an unusually large number of concerts together with others of this kind, and here we can mention a concert at the National Theater connected to the AIDS organization and then a concert at the Art Festival in Reykjavík - Listapop / Bíórokk ´92 in a packed Laugardalshall, but those concerts were also filmed in order to be used in the film Stuttur frakki, which was being worked on at the time. Icelandic music was prominent in films around this time, Sodóma is mentioned above, but Sálin also had a song on an album that was released with the music from the film Veggfóður and it actually appeared in the film as well. Pétur "Krókur" Kristjánsson went a lot with the band during the summer tour and fit in well with the group, even though there was a ten to twenty year age gap between him and Sálarliði, he didn't forget to sing Krókinn at dances in Hlöður and Njálsbúd (from where Rás 2 broadcast directly) and elsewhere this summer, but he also recorded old hits such as Wældarann and Later on (Wild thing and Seinn meir) with Sálinni. The band took a short break from playing ball in Iceland and played for the Icelanders in Mallorca in the middle of July for about a week, and then the band together with Todmobile were the biggest name at the Þjóðhátíð in Eyju during the shopping weekend.
The three new songs were all hits during the summer, scoring high on the charts and Gargið became the best-selling Icelandic album of the summer, despite the fact that there were only three new songs on it, but the advantage was also that now all the previous compilation album songs were in one place. The publisher had not expected such a sale of the album and the first edition sold out quickly, so there was a bit of a wait for a new edition to arrive in Iceland, which affected the sales, it had nevertheless sold around 7500 copies in the autumn.
