…and now for something completely different! 2035 - 2023

These fucking politicians, warlords and religious... They don't know that they are as superfluous as telephone disinfectors and hairdressers! - RYP

We have a first entry each day that is a picture or a video, and only in that entry you can place your music links and requests (NO ALBUMS RELEASED IN 2021 AND AFTER, AND A DAILY LIMIT OF 3 ALBUMS AND NO REQUESTS FOR FLAC OR OTHER LOSSLESS, IF YOU WANT FLAC, BUY THE ALBUM)! Here you can say what you like, unless it's offensive, racist or discriminatory! Please keep your language polite and respectful. All other official posts will only allow comments related to the official posts and such. That way it will keep things much more organized and tidy. Enjoy! RYP and Gyro1966

The Fleur de Lys is the most well-known heraldic symbol of French monarchy. You remember: Louis XIV (L'état, c'est moi).

The name was used in one or another form from different bands and artists. Here's a Danish one with their one and only album:

Free Friday Films brings you IGGY POP and THE STOOGES in all their glory with

GIMME DANGER

There’s a pretty sharp irony in the fact that Iggy Pop and the Stooges- the ones who invented punk rock, who have never sold out, who want no part of the fame and money offered from the corporate nipple, who never played ball with any person in a suit, and who stand against everything that our capitalist America worships and values have been immortalized in a documentary paid for and only available through Amazon, the worst of the worst corporate behemoths out there. And so, because Iggy would approve, we offer you Gimme Danger– a tribute and story of the band that defines the word cool in all the best senses, written and directed by another really cool guy- Jim Jarmusch, a filmmaker that probably embodies the Stooge aesthetic more than any other filmmaker around.

Whether you know, don’t know, love or hate The Stooges, Gimme Danger is a tour de force through the 60’s and 70’s, then jumping into the 21st Century for a legitimate comeback by a group of Detroit burnouts who could have easily amounted to nothing good. Which is what almost happened- several times, as you learn in the doc. Jarmusch plays it straight all the way through- no deadpan irony or artsty shots underlining his story here, just talking heads and archival footage illustrating the points Iggy and company make about how the whole thing came about.

With all the mythmaking of Iggy Pop- just watch Velvet Goldmine if you’re looking for some- the nicest surprise in the film is just how down-to-earth, and dare I say, sweet, Iggy really is. The Stooges were never political (like their cohorts the MC5 were) and yet, in this neoliberal world we live in, there’s no doubt that making music the way they did- because they loved it- is definitely a radical political act. They continuously ignored and angered the corporate power centers that view music as a product meant to be exploited, and paid the price: 3 groundbreaking albums before they collapsed under all the pressure, and were no more… until, like Jesus, they rose again.

Packed with interviews featuring nothing but genuinely cool people- Danny Fields, Mike Watt, and many hometown friends & family of the band itself- Gimme Danger thumbs its nose at the Rolling Stones and all the other cash-cow dinosaurs who traded in anything genuine they may have had to offer humanity in their early, idealistic days for money money money. By contrast, Iggy lives on- miraculously- and he does it the only way he’s ever known, by championing all that is good, and shitting on everything that is bad. Fuck you, Amazon- here’s Gimme Danger.

Auto Salvage - Auto Salvage (1968)

Autosalvage's self-titled album came out in March 1968. And although it got some good reviews never really took off and the group split up. It's not a bad slice of psychedic rock though.
