We have a first entry each day that is a picture or a video, and only in that entry you can place your music links and requests (NO ALBUMS RELEASED IN 2020 AND AFTER, AND A DAILY LIMIT OF 3 ALBUMS)! Here you can say what you like, unless it's offensive, racist or discriminatory! Please keep your language polite and respectful.
All the rest official posts will only allow comments related to the official posts and such. That way it will keep things much more organized and tidy.

Here is 13th Floor Elevators debut album "Psyschedelic Sounds Of" from 1966, a vinyl rip from the original US first press in Stereo (wich was released early 1967). In my ears this is the best transfer of the album ever so far (no doubt), it's a killer, cause the 1990's cd's sound very muddy and crappy, so do the soughy and humming (I don't know wich word is the best in english) "remasters" cd's by Charly in the 2000's, the only transfer that (in some point) can match this one is the one from the 10-cd box set "Sign Of The 3 Eyed Men" released in 2009, but in my opinion it had serious problems (the Mono edition sound ok though) cause the Stereo version is from a vinyl (not tapes) that's been washed, it's also from different sources and the songs are in wrong order, and so on. Sad, cause this album is such a milestone, Roky and the guys deserves better. The transfer below is very dynamic and sounds like a whole new album in parts cause of the good sound. I include the album in both FLAC and MP3, if you got good headphones or speakers the FLAC sounds a little bit better than MP3 (I know some of you disslike FLAC, I think it's a overrated format too mostly, but sometimes it's kicks ass too!). But the most important thing - celebrate the Elevators! Cheers.

Ps. If you're looking for the best sounding Mono edition of the album, go visit Prof. Stoned's blog (wich I know many on TZ already do) and get his transfer, it sounds amazing as always, he's an ace!

@Aaron Vincent + Eloy
I'm surprosed that you don't know Eloy. Thought you're one of the few foreign connoisseurs of the German scene.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wmcYve9E1M
(have Pink Floyd in mind, while listening to this and if you like Prog, I recommand you all of their albums).
Let me tell a very shortened development story of German Rock scene. In the late 60's when German Rock acts try to struggle free from Anglo-Saxon role models (Petards), they had no own musical tradition (because of Nazi-time) where they could base on. Only a few opportunities are given:
1. Pre-Nazi music of the roaring 20's (Jazz influeced acts, Liedermacher like Reinhard May, Witthüser & Westrupp, Achim Reichel)
2. Fantasy and psychedelic music (Amon Düül II, Florian Fricke, Popol Vuh, Gila, Hoelderlin, later called 'Kraut'
3. Space and Sci-Fi (Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze)
4. Going on with the Blues and Hard Rock (Hamburg Scene, Inga Rumpf, Udo Lindenberg, the biggest German act 'The Scorpions)
3 years later, beginning of the 70's Prog + Art Rock becomes another way of making music and a vast number of German bands caught that train, but having their own special way.
One of these bands was Eloy, their first album vanished without any trace, but the second one 'Inside' was hitting the nerves. I saw them first at that early time when they are playing sporthalls of schools or Mensas of the universities (small venues). But with their next album 'Power + Passion' Eloy became a bigger act, soupported by the Hanover scene (Scorpions, Jane, etc.). With the album 'Ocean' Eloy was travelling with truckloads of equipment, Light Shows, international standards of entertainment, big arenas, stadions. Only the Scorpions were topping them, achieving international success, followed later by Krefeld's 'Blind Guardian'.
Basing and developing on the special German music structures some innovative acts made their music round Cologne and Düsseldorf (Kraftwerk, Neu, La Düsseldorf, Satin Whale). Later Punk and NDW (Neue deutsche Welle) swept them all away and was smashed into pieces shortly after. From the mid 80's up to now there is no German act (ecept the international acts like Scorpions + Blind Guardian), who are able to fill the place the Prog bands have once occupied. BAP was the last of them. 'Tocotronic' seems to come in for a short while, but finally failed.

@ Little Boy Blue
Thanks for your R&B labels - often pleasantly obscure (to me at least) - just how I like 'em!
@ wallyk
Many thanks for your continuing early R&B obscurities - many of which aren't even documented. Wonderful stuff.
@ Charles Hodgson
Regarding your multiple file problem...
You have to compress the file(s) first before putting into ImageNetz.
Right click the mouse over the folder, select 'Add To Archive' and wait for the files to compress. Then put the compressed folder into ImageNetz
Hope this helps

Thank you kindly for your words about the german rock scene, it is both interesting and instructive to read from your point of view. Thanks for Eloy too, I'll put my teeth into it ASAP. Thanks again for your well written text, you should write more about music (maybe the german scen) here on TZ, I think we all need and enjoy to read about, not only share and listen! Cheers!
Looking for Peter Holsapple & Chris Stamey album....please share if anyone have. Thanks in advance
@ Gaius
Thanks for your comment about Eloy !
You have given a link to the album "silent cries and mighty echoes" and it's probably the best way for somebody who wants to listen to this group for the first time.
As you tell it , the first time that I have listen to this album, I had Pink Floyd in mind, and...I played it every day during one week. It became my favorite album of Eloy.
As RYP say "if you love it, buy it", so I have bought about 10 albums ;-)
Aaron Vincent is right : you write well and it would be a great pleasure, if from time to time you could write again. But, please, feel free to make what you want, it's only a wish.
