The Trilobites "Savage Mood Swing" 1989

In 1988 the Trilobites came to the attention of the fledgling rooArt label. The band contributed "All hail the new right" to rooArt inaugural Yougblood compilation. That led to a full recording contract which resulted in the 12-inch ep & cd ep "I can't wait for the summer to end" (mars 1989). Then englishman Steve James produced the Trilobites' debut studio album, "Savage mood swing" (march 1990). Between recording the album and it's release, the Trilobites also undertook a successful European tour (late 1989). - McFarlane in the "Encyclopedia of Australian rock and pop".
The Trilobites were a Sydney-based band in the late 80s and early 90s. They mainly played around Sydney's southern suburbs, often at The Den at Penshurst, Caringbah Inn, and Sylvania Hotel. When Savage Mood Swing was released in 1990 The Trilobites had already released several good solid singles, an EP, plus a live album, and were deservedly enjoying the embryo of indie success with a growing live following amongst punters plus a sprinkling of airplay on Radio Triple J.Savage Mood Swing appeared to be The Trilobites' one big effort to produce a polished album for release on CD and crack into the Big Time.
