Sammy Davis Jr "This Guy’s In Love With You" (Live in Hamburg, Germany 1969)

Everytime I watched a clip with Sammy Davis from the sixties or seventies, a get very touched and very upset at the same time cause of the racism that prevailed at the time, such as Kennedy wanting the Rat Pack to attend his wedding but choosing not to bring Sammy because he was black, terrible. Credit to Dean who, in protest of this, chose not to participate either, cause he loved his friend.
And here is Sesame Street with their classic "I Want a Monster to Be My Friend"!

I am not familar with 100% of the Charlie Daniels oevre. I used to love the early albums like Fire On The Mountain and Nightrider, two of the most important albums in Southern Rock imo. But those have a heavy country influence and Charlie plays the fiddle.
Uneasy Rider has a strong R&B influence as the AMG wrote. So I doubt that there are many more Daniels albums in that vein. But I do not know 100%.
Another band that Charlie played in as a frontman was Beau Weevils - they only released one album a couple of years ago. That is a very strong album with a lot of great songs. Actually one of his best. Charlie sings and plays guitar and not the fiddle. Highly recommended.
To Aaron:
I will post a bunch of Keep On Chooglin mixes soon. I started those (now at vol. 32) being inspired by Country Funk, Country Got Soul and Delta Swamp Rock. And I stole quite a few tracks from your comps - but I told you so via mail.

What could be better for a Rock-free Sunday than Irish Folk? Been there so many times and here (in Germany) and there (in Ireland) I had the opportunity to see some of the most influential Irish musicians, Christie Moore and Dónal Lunny. Sometimes in Dublin, sometimes somewhere at the West-Coast. I can remeber a Pub with Live-Music, not far away from the famous Cliffs of Mohair. So maybe it could have been Gus O'Connors.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cliffs_of_Moher
Let's talk about Dónal. He was in the Bothy Band and Planxty, he has co-worked with Moore, he was a member of 'The Moving Hearts' and to my surprise he appears on the albums of some Scandinavian artists. Dónal was here, there and everywhere. But even such an Allround-Musician has started his career somewhere and somehow. Ant this was with:
The Emmet Spiceland (Ireland) - The First, 1968
(which also was their last LP)

O.K. it's Sunday, so that's really no rock. Just a Girl and her guitar. Sibylle Baier (born 25 February 1955) is a German folk singer and actress, whose musical abilities achieved belated recognition with the 2006 release of the album Colour Green, compiled from songs she had recorded in the early 1970s. Here she is:

One least, Canadian Folk. The Saffron Sect were a Canadian Psycchedelic Folk band from Toronto. They had a few singles and EP's published in the early 2000's. This is a small 8 tracks compilation, which once was (and maybe still is) hard to find stuff:

Thanks for the continuing Joe Bussard tapes. They're a fitting tribute to the last of a dying breed - an all-consuming original lifetime collector whose passion for the music never waivered. There's probably collectors from all over the world beating down his door trying to attain some of these one-of-kind gems.

Thanks much for the Joe's 78 series.

Sad to hear about Robert Gordon's passing -- we have lost a very powerful voice! Does anyone happen to have (or even know of) any tapes of Gordon's performances in the mid-1970s, when he was singing for the Tuff Darts? The only ones I've heard are from the "Live at CBGB's" album, but perhaps there are others out there?
As always, many thanks for all the sharing, compilations, and searches that go on here in twilightzone!

cabledogg2, thanks for the Joe's 78s blues collections! They're great!
here are the first 3 of the untagged compilations that i tagged.
thanks to the compilers. in this case i believe it is wallyk. not certain. info and corrections welcome.
The Shotgun Boogie https://drive.proton.me/urls/0BAARDQFTM#w8IGp6i95ssp
Lovin' Woman Blues https://drive.proton.me/urls/397KJ7Q620#PEs93l8SR1j5
Beale Street Boogie https://drive.proton.me/urls/VS8N33KAM4#gJ5vhcvfORkH
in cases where there was label and recording number info, i moved it to the "comment" tab. i corrected spelling and known info errors but as many of the artists are unknown to me, i almost certainly missed some. so, again, corrections and info welcome.
i use a mac, and use tagr and tag editor. i hate itunes and never use it, so not sure how my tagging matches up with it. i recommend jdownloader2, which eliminates many problems encountered when downloading via browser.

Hi y'all.
I wonder if there is a disco freak like me out there who has a copy of the album "Randyandy - Randyandy". If you do and have the time to post it, it would be very much appreciated.
@imnokid, and yet there is Felix at the organ in the video . . .
Gaius that is so wild you mentioned Gus O'Connors, great pub in Doolin, great music, and truly authentic. I spent a night there 30 years ago, a Yank out solo in the wilds, when I took a break from rugby tour in Limerick and rented a car for a drive about. Short story never made it back to Limerick that night, and my match the following night against Young Munster back in Limerick showed the results. Great music, good people, I have not been back in over 30 years. Need to get back there Cheers RyugbyLad

Thank you erasmus. You have saved me and many others a lot of time by doing this work.
What music playing program do you use in lieu of iTunes. I'm on a Windows 10 PC and have been using iTunes for years, but would love to find a better player. I have hundreds of playlists in iTunes that I would like to move to a new system as well.
Thanks again,

@ Searnav,
Thanks for the Collector's Choice "What's Shakin'" -- and especially for including the artwork for both the Electra CD and Edsel LP. Those liner notes added a great deal to the context of when those tracks were recorded as well as adding insight into the individual tracks themselves. Much appreciated.

@Searnav,
Thanks for "What's Shakin'"! Been looking after it awhile, cheers!
i don't know why, but the tagged compilations that i posted sound terrible on my phone, but fine on my laptop. thought maybe it was a problem with the file host i use, but other files uploaded there, then downloaded on my phone, sound fine. it's an annoying mystery. anyone have an answer/theory?
tsi&hrjs, do the files play properly for you? does the tagging display properly in itunes? not sure what to tell you regarding your PC except to say that VLC works well on all systems and that i used to use AIMP for audio when i had a PC.
RYP, did you change the video that was originally at the top of this post or was I up too late and hallucinating when I clicked on the video and commented????
immokid, no hallucinations! I changed the video!
@erasmus
I compared the sound of the original post to yours, (on Windows Media Player) and don't hear much difference. There is a lot of noise on some tracks, but that is to be expected when ripping from 78's. My iTunes is down right now, so I can't say how it appears in iTunes.
I have VLC, but only use it for playing DVDs so far. Thanks for your input.
