…and now for something completely different! 1816 - 2022

These fucking politicians, warlords and religious... They don't know that they are as superfluous as telephone disinfectors and hairdressers! - RYP

We have a first entry each day that is a picture or a video, and only in that entry you can place your music links and requests (NO ALBUMS RELEASED IN 2020 AND AFTER, AND A DAILY LIMIT OF 3 ALBUMS)! Here you can say what you like, unless it's offensive, racist or discriminatory! Please keep your language polite and respectful. All the rest official posts will only allow comments related to the official posts and such. That way it will keep things much more organized and tidy. Enjoy! RYP and Gyro1966

The Beatles – The E.M.I. Outakes (sic)

The Amazing Korniforne Record Label TAKRL 1374 (USA 1974)

Rather surprisingly, the word “outtakes” is misspelled “outakes” on the front cover.

The notes between parentheses for side A tracks were about the situation at the time this LP was first released. Some of the tracks have been officially released since then.

Tracks A1, A3, A5, A7, A9 and B1 are not listed on the cover.

Side A contains different versions or unpublished tracks.

A1 press conference excerpt (John) (0:40)
A2 What A Shame, Mary Jane Had A Pain At The Party (3:01)
A3 press conference excerpt (Paul) (0:35)
A4 Penny Lane (uncut, slower original version with trumpet ending) (2:56)
A5 press conference excerpt (George) (0:58)
A6 Blue Jay Way (outake - the orginal version) (sic) (3:41)
A7 fan interview (0:27)
A8 All My Loving (uncut original version, the only stereo recording) (2:03)
A9 fans interviews (0:51)
A10 Sie Liebt Dich (She Loves You) (unreleased German version) (runs too fast) (2:06)

Side B is said on the cover to have been recorded live in England on May 6, 1964.
Other sources say it’s from the TV show “Around The Beatles” from 19 April 1964 with overdubbed screaming

B1 fans interviews (0:45)
B2 Twist And Shout (2:29)
B3 Roll Over Beethoven (1:49)
B4 I Wanna Be Your Man (1:40)
B5 Long Tall Sally (8:46)
B6 Medley (see artwork) (4:16)
B7 Can't Buy Me Love (2:09)

Vinyl Rip –Artwork Included (front, labels) (back is all white) (from my LP)

Additional info:

Side 1

01. press conference excerpt (not listed)

Excerpt from the 12 August 1966 press conference in Chicago regarding John's statement about The Beatles and Jesus

02. What's The New Mary Jane

Take 4 w/overdubs (26 November 1969)
Intended for release as single (Apple 1002)

03. press conference excerpt (not listed)

unidentified Paul interview on songwriting

04. Penny Lane

Alternate promo mix (trumpet ending)

05. press conference excerpt (not listed)

Seanav,
thanks for the Dylan.
What I would really like would be a top sound quality concert of Dylan with Tom Petty.
one that would be good to see here would be
Bob Dylan – Hard Rain [live]
The version of 'Maggie's Farm' with Mick Ronson is pure punk rock.
Once spent an entire weekend stoned and just listening to and singing along with that song!
Loud.
The line- up:-
Backing Vocals – Rob Stoner, Steven Soles
Bass – Rob Stoner
Cover – Paula Scher
Drums – Gary Burke, Howard Wyeth
Engineer – Don Meehan
Guitar – David Mansfield, Steven Soles, T-Bone Burnett
Piano – Howard Wyeth, T-Bone Burnett
Strings – Scarlet Rivera
A seriously unappreciated album.

Prog from a time when Prog wasn't at vogue at all. Anyway, it was Prog at it's best. The band was from Sweden and called 'Isildurs Bane' and the experts know, that's Tolkien:

(German fandom)

It wasn't the first Swedish artists, inspired by Tolkien. Remember Bo Hansson and 'Lord of the Rings'. So now you'll get their version of:

I can add a 18 Minutes version of this song.

In the 70's, in a very short period of time, the Cologne band 'Satin Whale' became a bigger act in German Prog scene than 'Eloy', playing with big equipment in the big arenas. One reason was this album:

I have understand that Eloy was very big back in the seventies, but I actually never heard of. If you have any suggestions what album by them I should start listen to, feel free to mention one. :-)
