These fucking politicians, warlords and religious... They don't know that they are as superfluous as telephone disinfectors and hairdressers! - RYP

We have a first entry each day that is a picture or a video, and only in that entry you can place your music links and requests (NO ALBUMS RELEASED IN 2020 AND AFTER, AND A DAILY LIMIT OF 3 ALBUMS AND NO REQUESTS FOR FLAC OR OTHER LOSSLESS, IF YOU WANT FLAC, BUY THE ALBUM)! Here you can say what you like, unless it's offensive, racist or discriminatory! Please keep your language polite and respectful. Various Artists – Country Rock Festival – Philadelphia 1973

Tower Theatre, Philadelphia – June 1973

"Warner Bros. Records" set up a mini-tour which was billed as a "country-rock festival" package. The all-day, all-night affair consisted of Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris, Gene Parsons, Clarence White, Roland White, Eric White Jr., James Burton, some members of Country Gazette, Sneaky Pete Kleinow and Chris Ethridge - all of whom had signed record contracts with "Warner Bros". There were two test shows on the East Coast in June 1973, which got fantastic critics. One in Annapolis, Maryland and then another in Philadelphia (this concert).

Warner Brothers intended to extend it to a world tour, but the project collapsed due to Gram Parsons’ and Clarence White’s deaths.

This was the last known public performance given by Gram Parsons.

Gram Parsons (guitar, vocals)
Clarence White (guitar, vocals)
Gene Parsons (drums, vocals)
Chris Ethridge (bass)
Sneaky Pete Kleinow (pedal steel guitar)
Emmylou Harris (guitar, vocals)
Roland White (guitar, mandolin, vocals)
Eric White Jr. (banjo, double bass, vocals)
Byron Berline (fiddle)
Alan Munde (banjo)
Roger Bush (bass)
James Burton (guitar)

Not all artists perform on all tracks.

Some sources say that the concert lasted approximately 3 hours! So this is just a 43 minutes excerpt, mostly focused on Gram Parsons.

Don’t expect excellent audio quality!

There is a poor quality silent film with excerpts of the concert. Here’s a clip made by Thomas Aubrunner with music from the concert added.

1. Christine's Tune (Devil In Disguise) (4:08)
2. Tried So Hard (3:00)
3. We'll Sweep Out The Ashes In The Morning (3:02)
4. Streets Of Baltimore (3:35)
5. Hickory Wind (4:37)
6. Country Baptizin' (4:22)
7. Love Hurts (5:14)
8. Hot Burrito #2 (2:55)
9. Six Days On The Road (4:06)
10. Sin City (4:12)
11. Wheels (3:22)

I hope I don't disturb Gaius on his German Rock Scene Safari Deluxe Edition 2.0 with these albums:-)

Here are the genius Dieter Moebius (1944-2015) two albums from 1983, one under his own name and one in collaboration with legends Conny Plank and Mani Neumeier. Electronic, minimal, synth Berlin-School-sounds straight from the past Krautrock scene. Very atmospheric with typical german beats, the cold (and in some way industrial) sound, hypnotic and sometime haunting sound is a red line through both albums. Maybe not for everyone, but once again those german show, they were way ahead of it's time. And Kraftwerk were not the only pioneers in the synth genre. Cheers!
