Cheap Trick

Cheap Trick is an American rock band from Rockford, Illinois, formed in 1973 by guitarist Rick Nielsen, bassist Tom Petersson, lead vocalist Robin Zander and drummer Bun E. Carlos. The current lineup of the band consists of frontman Robin Zander, Nielsen and Petersson.
Cheap Trick released their self-titled debut album in 1977 and, later that year, found success in Japan with the release of their second album, In Color. The band would achieve mainstream popularity in the United States in 1979 with their breakthrough album Cheap Trick at Budokan. Cheap Trick reached the Top 10 in the US charts in 1979 with the Budokan live version of "I Want You to Want Me" and topped the charts in 1988 with "The Flame".
Cheap Trick has performed live more than 5,000 times and sold more than 20 million albums. Over the course of its career, the band has experienced several resurgences of popularity and built a dedicated cult following. Cheap Trick was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.

Thanks for the traunches of Hawaiian tunes of late. I've been gathering them for years. Your post have certainly expanded my collection.
There is a long history of the Music of Hawaii. Few people are aware that there were cowboys on the Islands before they were in the old west. They were imported from South America and California in the early 1800s and brought there music styles and heritage with them over time it mixed with the Island traditions. Here's a collection put out by Warner Nashville in the late 90's and link to the the back story.

Another interesting fact about the German music scene is the influence that came from outside the borders. No Dutch act of the late 60's and early 70's when toruring missed the western German Cities (Cologne, Düsseldorf, the Ruhrgebiet), no Swiss and Austrian act the southern German cities (Munich, Stuttgart..) and no French act the Southeast. And some British bands never seem to leave Germany (Family, Man, Nektar, Gentle Giant). They played every festival and big town hall.
And regarding the fact of toruing Dutch, US and British bands in Germany it's always remarkable, that these people in this generation have always lost friends and relatives in World War II (think of Roger Waters). Being cynical I could say, that they couldn't ignore the big German market, and so they came. But this would be too short of an argument. When I was young I was travelling quite a lot in the European Countries and hat a lot of short time holidays contacts to the people I met. WW II and the fear of repeating Nazi-Terror was always a theme of discussion. So there always was some kind of curiosity if the Germans have really changed to democratic people. And it needed some outstanding politicians to proove that. (Willy Brandt). Although the English weren't always quite sure of that:

At least, the fact that these bands came to Germany in the 6='s and 70's after all what have happening 30 years before, was an underestimated cultural influence helping to establish democratic development in Germany.

Thanks so much for posting the "Blues Sensation" CD. Much appreciated.
As a note, neither Sylvester Cotton or Andrew Dunham can hold a candle to John Lee Hooker in terms of musicianship or power, but these recordings possess an undeniable raw quality and power all their own that make them very special. This collection is highly recommended for any postwar blues fan.

Re the Zippyshare debate, I'm not an advocate for Zippy by any means, in fact my virus checker blocks one of its servers (www11.zippyshare.com) because of "a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length", whatever that means. But geoblocking is another matter. If you live in a country where record companies are allowed to determine internet content it's a slippery slope: it won't be long before you have an internet like they have in China or North Korea. @ Strange Wanker...you certainly are ...issues re Freedom Of Internet/CopyRight ...and CopyLeft as a response to big corporates push to control/parasitise off Creatives/Creators is certainly not out of place here in comments of a blog dedicated to sharing music freely. It's not drivel to be aware/make note of internet strangling in the unfree states and be worried about similar encroachment on internet liberty in the so called Free World.
