The Cherry Drops call themselves a 'retro power pop band' and their two albums amply confirm this tag. 'Life Is a Bowl of Cherry Drops' is a wonderfully entertaining set of songs on which the Southern California musicians are helped by Steve Boone of The Lovin' Spoonful on 'Sweet Lovin' and Tony Valentino of The Standells on 'I Believe, I Believe'.
To crown it all, the overall garage pop/rock drift of this album is epitomized by a cover of The Count Five's timeless 'Psychotic Reaction' "featuring The Mighty Manfred of The Woggles" (I quote from the liner notes). A delicious time travel. - popphil
