Vern Williams (mandolin, vocals)

Ray Park (fiddle)
Kraig Hutchens (electric lead guitar)
Along with her brothers, Rose Maddox, the Queen of West Coast Country Music, defined the California Country Music sound and pioneered rock-a-billy music. By the 1980s, country music had abandoned Rose, but she found a new home in Bluegrass Music (she was the first woman to record a bluegrass album). On this 1980 recording, she teamed up with bluegrass legend, the late Vern Williams and his band, to record some of her best known songs and best loved bluegrass songs.

It's Arno Nyms Experimental CD-R Cardboard Box, Volume 10
--------------------------------------------------------------
Next three items from my old cardboard box filled with lots of CD-Rs by small European (and today also Canadian) experimental artists and projects! All of today’S discs have beautifully handpainted/ printed/ sprayed artwork and were released in a very limited edition as Tour-CD-Rs. I couldn’t find any of them on discogs (or elsewhere) but found similar releases containing the same musical material (a quiet difficult but also interesting research project!). So these releases are truly one-of-a-kind:
1. Holzkopf “High Level” CD-R (2010)
Holzkopf is the long-running experimental music project of Canadian multimedia artist Jacob Audrey Taves, based in Vancouver, British Columbia (and later also active in Edmonton). Taves has been recording under the Holzkopf name since 1999, developing a highly individual blend of industrial music, plunderphonics, noise, breakcore, dub, tape collage, and electroacoustic composition.

2. Holzkopf “Fat In The Sun” EP CD-R (2010)
This is a short EP with handwritten artwork, containing two tracks only - one is a Dub Remix of a track that’s on the “High Level” CD-R and apparently can only be found here (?), the other track is from his 2009 CD-R “Sober Materials”...

3. Wood Word Salad – CD-R (2009)
Minimalistic electronic miniatures by Word Wood Salad – which was an early project by Björn Carlstedt, a Swedish experimental musician later associated with his project Word Salad, producing ambient, drone, electroacoustic and experimental electronic music. I got this handwritten & drawn CD-R without any tracklist but found the titles of the tracks at dicogs...

I wouldn’t say that your opinion doesn’t matter, Mike. Especially in regards to anything written by Nick Tosches.
I just started reading the “Country” book & can easily see why you’ve read it several times.
I’m hoping to read the Tosches biography of boxer Sonny Liston next.
Thanks for all the Vern!!!
