These fucking politicians, warlords and religious... They don't know that they are as superfluous as telephone disinfectors and hairdressers! - RYP

We have a first entry each day that is a picture or a video, and only in that entry you can place your music links and requests (NO ALBUMS RELEASED IN 2021 AND AFTER, AND A DAILY LIMIT OF 3 ALBUMS AND NO REQUESTS FOR FLAC OR OTHER LOSSLESS, IF YOU WANT FLAC, BUY THE ALBUM)! I'd never heard of Madame La Bolduc(1894-1941) - French-Canadian singer and musician recording ca. 1930's), so I hunted out a selection her songs. Apparently she is often considered to be Quebec's first singer/songwriter...
Whereas yesterday's two French-Canadian artists were country singers in the French language, here from a much earlier period, it is more 'Edith Piaf'.

@Bob

Yes, Madame La Bolduc is really old school, like their version of the Carter family. Her records used to crack us up as kids because they seemed so hokey to us back then.

My parents are in their 90s now and I'm gathering up music for them. Dad talks about when Hal Lone Pine was on the radio and when Hank Snow was a poor kid. There was also Don Messer but I think I can find some of his works - I haven't had time to look too hard yet.

Thanks again!

Madame La Bolduc

There is a 1992 film about her on youtube. I haven't watched it yet so I can't give a thumbs up or thumbs down. It is in French.
