Michael (Gaius) R.I.P.

I just found out through a phone call from his cousin and BigGray's comment that my good friend Michael (Gaius) has passed away! I'm totally shocked because I got to know him as a very open, helpful and human guy. He's also been a huge help in keeping the TwilightZone alive. Most recently with his Iceland series, of which 8 postings are still in the pipeline.

Michael, rest in peace, I will miss you very much!

Thank you all for the lovely comments about Michael (Gaius). It's nice to know how much he was appreciated in this community. The Kind words are a comfort to us.
- His Family

Michael 's family are overwhelmed by all your kind messages. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

This is very sad news. Like so many of us, Gaius often gave me quick and substantial help and selfless support. My condolences to the bereaved - and a minute's silence in commemoration from the entire TZ community.

Too bad too, that there will be no more stories like the legendary exchange between Gaius and RYP about "washing father’s car at the canal in the 1960’s". Like JohnnyDiego, Gaius was a fine, humorous storyteller who would surely have had much more to tell ... TC

Only just seen this very sad news as I've been away. Michael/Gaius was always generous with his many great shares on TZ and although I didn't know him personally he came across as someone with a passion for his music and an all round decent guy. You will be missed by the TZ community, but never forgotten. RIP Michael.

RIP Gaius !

I've dl a lot of your shares and enjoyed to listen to them. You had probably more french vinyl albums than me and I thought that you had a fantastic collection of albums from each land in the world.

I've dl quite all your shares from your Iceland albums collection, but didn't had time to listen to them. I shall listen to them this autumn and talk about this music with a family of my patients, which come from Iceland but live in France since 30 years (we became friends).

I send you a french song called "les copains d'abord" ("zuerst die Freunde") from Brassens and a cover in jazz as if we were in New-Orleans :
