I first heard these fellows in a live album which changed my guitar/life. I at that time heard a surf version of what I thought was correct on the frets: not so much Ventures as soundtrack; not so much Dick Dale as something that took the original concept beyond. Ah, here was the synthesis. "Moving Target" features these geniuses as they should be: released from constraints and slap-happy. The songs here include everything from, well, the Ventures to Dick Dale, but the stamp is original and telling--and boots strike the gluteal regions unlike they have ever done.
