Santo & Johnny were an American rock and roll instrumental duo of Italian descent from Brooklyn, New York. They had a huge hit with "Sleepwalk" in 1959, but I think those guys have many great tunes, very nice Hawaii-vibe on many of the tracks as well. This is their two first albums (I think). Cheers.

Mike Cotton formed The Mike Cotton Jazzmen in the early 1950s. Starting out playing trad jazz until 1963, switching to rock & roll and blues. Then he changed the group’s name to The Mike Cotton Sound and their musical direction to a more pop-based style and then remaking themselves again in the vein of Stax/Volt type soul, and finally ending up as a progressive soul band.

We’ve decided that we’re shutting down the project at the end of the month. Please make backups of your important files, you have about two weeks to do so. Until then, the site will run without any changes.
There are several reasons for the closure:
– Since 2006 we have been on the market in an unchanged form, that is, as ad financed/free file hosting. However, you have been visiting in less and less over the years, as the arguably very simple formula of the services we offer is slowly running out of steam. I guess all the competing file storage service companies on the market look better, offer better performance and more features. No one needs a dinosaur like us anymore.
– All sorts of adblockers, whether built into the browser, as add-ons, or in the form of DNS services. Sure, we all use them, but they take away any control the site owner has over the site. Eventually we get to the point where a vicious cycle begins, in order to pay for the server infrastructure you are forced to place more and more ads, then users fire up more and more adblockers and we get to a point like today.
– Rising electricity prices. Over the past year, electricity prices have gone up 2.5 times, which, with a large number of servers, gives a significant increase in costs that we have no way to balance.
There are still a bunch of smaller reasons, but we could write a book on this, and probably no one would want to read it.
To sum it up, we can no longer afford to maintain the site.

All the comments so far about Zippyshare's demise seem to be expressing only great sadness. May I, as a UK resident, lead the cheering, singing, and wild dancing celebrations.
They showed all the contempt for users and miserable service provision level of a teenager running the operation from a bedroom somewhere like Belarus. They crippled Opera in VPN mode to produce the slowest download speed I have ever seen, which inevitably caused connection dropouts halfway through more than one attempted five hours+ long download of even a not very big single file.
So I stopped using it a long while ago and always ignore any "Zippy" links (sorry, Searnav!)

Seems some people here are happy to see Zippyshare disappear. Well obviously those people don't know how to properly use their computers. I've been using Zippy for years and years ago and I never had a single problem with them. So goodbye, Zippy, sorry to see you go...unless it's just an April's Fool as it seems they will stop be functional from April 1st on.

Your comment regarding our grandparents music gave me a nice laugh. You must be a bit younger than myself. Anyway, I appreciate your comments and your request for Mezz Mezzrow is so out of the ordinary, I have to get it on you.
You introduced me to Mezz, and I have just listened to the three collections that you have posted. Again, I hate to sound greedy, but any more Mezz would be appreciated by me, including chronological:

Regarding Zippyshare. It will be a loss to serious downloaders just as rapidshare and megaupload were when they departed. However in Zippyshare's case it was without question self inflicted. When you are a European provider and you block something like 400 million potential users of the most affluent globally then you are going to seriously upset your, likely mainly European, advertisers who in turn will withdraw their business and go elsewhere.
That Zippy is still getting 1.75 million hits daily suggests there is plenty of business out there for them so I suspect they will be reincarnated under a different banner with a different business model especially as there are now few competitors who offer a service equivalent to the one they provided. Even Mediafire have made themselves unattractive with their extensive vetting and censorship. Instead you have hobbled services like Imagenetz with its single download at a time and Krakenfiles with its two concurrent downloads that will make large scale downloads so time consuming that such blogs will fade out. However this does means Zippy do have considerable freedom to adapt their business model but equally its unlikely whatever they come back as they are unlikely to offer the flexibility of free services it has previously.
How blogs such as Revolution Rock and Azor will then conduct themselves is anyone's guess. The same is true of Jillem's, whose response yesterday spoke for itself, and Phil Taylor's 'Sixties Beat' all of whom, rely on Zippy and in their way have a significant impact in the music blogging stakes. I only hope Zippy's demise does not see us lose such fine bloggers as a result. Its all very well posting two or three selected posts (and always welcome) using kraken or Imagenetz but when you are posting 50 or 60 links at a time as Azor often does such limited storage services just don't fly.
We can but wait and see but in the meantime I'll be spending more time on Soulseek and Rutracker......
