…and now for something completely different! 1976 - 2023

These fucking politicians, warlords and religious... They don't know that they are as superfluous as telephone disinfectors and hairdressers! - RYP

We have a first entry each day that is a picture or a video, and only in that entry you can place your music links and requests (NO ALBUMS RELEASED IN 2021 AND AFTER, AND A DAILY LIMIT OF 3 ALBUMS AND NO REQUESTS FOR FLAC OR OTHER LOSSLESS, IF YOU WANT FLAC, BUY THE ALBUM)! Here you can say what you like, unless it's offensive, racist or discriminatory! Please keep your language polite and respectful. All other official posts will only allow comments related to the official posts and such. That way it will keep things much more organized and tidy. Enjoy! RYP and Gyro1966

The Bobby Lees hailed from Woodstock, New York and play high energy and greasy punk rock/garage rock with a great female vocal. This is their 2nd album, wich was produced by the mighty Jon Spencer, their music reminds me of early Boss Hog, Pussy Galore and The Blues Explosion.

Huey Lewis and The News

Huey Lewis and the News are an American pop rock band based in San Francisco, California. They had a run of hit singles during the 1980s and early 1990s, eventually achieving 19 top ten singles across the Billboard Hot 100, Adult Contemporary, and Mainstream Rock charts. Their sound draws upon earlier pop, rhythm & blues and doo-wop artists, and their own material has been labeled as blue-eyed soul, new wave, power pop, and roots rock.

The group's first two albums were well-received, with Lewis's personal charisma as a frontman gaining notice from publications such as The Washington Post. Their most successful album, Sports, was released in 1983. Their popularity significantly expanded when the song "The Power of Love" was featured in the 1985 film Back to the Future. The group's 1986 album, Fore!, produced two further number-one singles in "Stuck with You" and "Jacob's Ladder". The band's other top-ten hits include "Do You Believe in Love", "Heart and Soul", "I Want a New Drug", "The Heart of Rock & Roll", "If This Is It", "Hip to Be Square", "I Know What I Like", "Doing It All for My Baby" and "Perfect World".

Im 2018, the band halted all touring after it was revealed that Lewis had Ménière's disease, an inner ear disorder. On February 14, 2020, they released Weather (their first studio album of new songs since Plan B), which contains songs the band recorded prior to Lewis's hearing loss.

Huey reviews his albums - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSUMCmu08bI

I prepared these posts a couple of weeks ago. Three days ago, one of my REGULARLY visited sites posted a Huey Lewis discography. As I have a few more albums and singles than HE, and HIS posts are only available on Rapidgator and Turbobit, both beloved by the residents here, I'm pressing ahead regardless.

I used to buy cheapo import cassettes years ago from truckstop counters, Woolworth's cut out bins, & whatever I could find in used record stores. (anybody remember those? they've all but disappeared in my area)

I bought this version of the John Lee Hooker album "Blues Before Sunrise"

https://us.rarevinyl.com/products/john-lee-hooker-blues-before-sunrise-dutch-vinyl-lp-album-record-cl00231283-685352?utm_source=GoogleAds-US&utm_medium=PPC&utm_campaign=GS-RV&gclid=Cj0KCQjwtsCgBhDEARIsAE7RYh1ldOn8WC5v64rRVN42Wkn1aHnkYYAT5hoJav5ADEBvi7BGFAtAuz4aAn24EALw_wcB

in cassette form & played it until it died an honorable death.

Being that it was made in the Netherlands I'm wondering if any TZ'ers would have a copy they could share w/me.

ALSO...

I've a shitload of literature ebooks I'd upload & share w/any TZ'ers who are interested if there was a demand for them: Richard Brautigan, Richard Hell, Iceberg Slim, Terry Southern, Orrie Hitt, Haruki Murakami, Yasunari Kawabata, Philip K Dick, Harry Crews, Dave Hickey, Cookie Mueller, Hubert Selby Jr., Charles Bukowski, Chester Himes, etc - lotsa oddball stuff if anyone's interested give me a holler.

Thanks

Another one of my Psychedelic Monsters from the early ages.
Crystalline did not make a lot of music, but they made some phenomenal music. Some of the best ever to emerge from the swamp of heavy British psychedelia, certainly some of the rarest. A 5-track-Mini CD with long tracks, raw fuzzed out guitars and beautiful female vocals by Vivienne Jones, including another version of Arthur Lee's - A House is not a Motel and the fantastic 'Here From There'.

Susan Donimus wrote "Solo electric alto hurdy-gurdy. No vocals, no accordion, no woodwinds. I have lots of albums by French and Belgian bands featuring hurdy-gurdy if anyone's interested."

Ooo yes, terrific, thanks.

Don't know if it's the exact same as what you're looking for but there's one with that title here:

@ Gaius & all

MusicBee looks great, though being on Linux I can't check it out directly. I use Kid3 to do the same things: It's free software, available for Windows, Mac, Android and Linux.

Summary: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kid3
Home site: https://kid3.kde.org/

Vaguely related: Elektric Music recorded the album Esperanto in 1993. Realizing that was 40 years ago came as a shock to me... how is that even possible, seems like yesterday, or day before at most. It may be out of style but sounds a fresh and relevant to me today as ever. And as track six says, "Information wants to be free."

We'd shit the conventions and go apeshit crazy over some of these.
