Yes, the Rev-Ola release of Stone Country is a bit strange. It doesn't sound good in my ears, maybe it's wrong with my ears? ;-) Some albums sounds amazing in Mono, some sounds terrible in comparison to the original Stereo mix. I don't know what some reissue record labels do when they transfer, but sometimes it sounds like they have compressed a already bad source? I mean there's a lot of good old sounding original 68-vinyls of (for example) Stone Country in both Stereo and Mono, not that hard to pick one of them up on e-bay, Discogs....maybe I'm just whiny;-)

But sadly you both shared the Rev-Ola mono-mixes, and I searched the Stereo album (from japan 2016 or the original 68-LP). But, on the other hand Stone Country got some new listeners cause of you two! And that made me happy, cause I think it's such a lovely album, wich deserves more light. :-) Thanks again!

I'm glad you find the mix enjoyable! I totally agree with you about Sister Morphine, Faithfull did the ultimate version already in 1969, her 1979 version (or 1978) is very good too, on the deluxe edition of Broken English the 12inch version are included. When I did the mixtape i din't want to include the most obvious choice, so I took the 2nd best ;-)
