…and now for something completely different! 3051 - 2026

These damned religious fanatics, politicians, warlords, and so on... Instead of sending the children of their peoples to THEIR OWN WARS, these idiots should settle their differences in large arenas with boxing matches or football games! For example, the "peace-making" Evangelical Messiah Agent Orange against the belligerent Putin, or the Pope in his ridiculous disguise against the bearded Ayatollahs with beards down to their navels... More examples welcome! - RYP

PLEASE READ OUR RULES:
We have a first entry each day that is a picture or a video, and only in that entry you can place your music links and requests (NO ALBUMS OR BOOKS RELEASED IN 2024 AND AFTER, AND A DAILY LIMIT OF 3 ALBUMS OR BOOKS AND NO REQUESTS FOR FLAC OR OTHER LOSSLESS, IF YOU WANT FLAC, BUY THE ALBUM)! Here you can say what you like, unless it's offensive, racist or discriminatory! Please keep your language polite and respectful. All other official posts will only allow comments related to the official posts and such. That way it will keep things much more organized and tidy. Enjoy! RYP and Gyro1966 and Gaius R.I.P.

Let's celebrate Artemis

Medicine Head – Dark Side Of The Moon

Original LP = Dandelion 2310-166 (U.K. 1972)

French LP with different cover = Polydor GU 33 / 2310-166 (France 1972)

This rip = Japanese CD = UYCY-9441 (Japan 2004)

John Fiddler (guitar, piano, vocals)
Keith Relf (bass, production)
John Davies (drums)

It came out months before Pink Floyd’s LP.

Medicine Head were a British blues rock band, active in the 1970s. They were formed in 1968, and came to prominence when championed by DJ, John Peel, who signed them to his Dandelion record label. “Dark Side Of The Moon” was the band’s third album, released in 1972, just a few months before Pink Floyd’s album of the same name. Pink Floyd briefly changed the name of their piece (which they were already performing live), to 'Eclipse' in order to avoid confusion. But Medicine Head’s album went nowhere so Pink Floyd reverted to ”DSOTM”.

Hi

Perhaps I am wrong, but I think Doc MF of Writin' On The Wall Blogspot occasionally posts on this comments page.

As I have no wish to have more to do with Google than I absolutely have to and commenting on his site involves said company, I hope he may see this.

I can't find your password. Maybe it is a secret or I am in some way lacking!

Any chance of a revelation? Even a hint as to its location on the page?

Sorry to use you as a go-between RYP (if indeed you publish this comment!) .

Friends -
I just posted three west coast jazz compilations. Please don't download them.
I screwed up and thought I'd already added them to iTunes and when I discovered I hadn't I also discovered that the tags are a mess. I just spent an hour cleaning everything up and i'll re-post them tomorrow in their proper form.
Thanks,
-Rick

I promised to be pleased if someone posted it, I am, and I am pleased with the music.
Arthur is very unlike his father, and in so many ways exactly like him. Where a lot of 21st century classical music is very boring, the serenity here is quite exiting. Not just easy listening elevator jazz.
Thank you, anonymous
