…and now for something completely different! 2386 - 2024

Those damned religious zealots, politicians, warlords and... They all bring death and ruin and they don't know that they are as superfluous as telephone disinfectors and hairdressers! - RYP

We have a first entry each day that is a picture or a video, and only in that entry you can place your music links and requests (NO ALBUMS RELEASED IN 2022 AND AFTER, AND A DAILY LIMIT OF 3 ALBUMS AND NO REQUESTS FOR FLAC OR OTHER LOSSLESS, IF YOU WANT FLAC, BUY THE ALBUM)! Here you can say what you like, unless it's offensive, racist or discriminatory! Please keep your language polite and respectful. All other official posts will only allow comments related to the official posts and such. That way it will keep things much more organized and tidy. Enjoy! RYP and Gyro1966 and Gaius R.I.P.

Hi RYP, I wish you had a nice time in your holidays!

For you and all the TZers, 2 CDs from Spain + 1:

Dani Nel·lo - Noir (2010)
A Catalan man who's played R'N'R, Blues, Rockabilly, Surf, R&B, Jazz and other genres in projects like...
Big Mama & The Blues Messengers, Nel·lo y la Banda del Zoco, Los Rebeldes, Tandoori Lenoir, Los Mambo Jambo.
In this occasion, the disc is inspired by the music of 'films noir'.

La Troup - Benvinguts a La Selva (2011) -Not complete-
A Catalan band who played Rhumba music.
If I'm not wrong, they recorded only 1 disc and it was sent to radio stations as a promotional stuff.

ARETHA FRANKLIN - NEVER LET ME GO: SELECTED TRACKS 1967-70

https://workupload.com/file/PsunWdXbQpL

Who doesn't love Aretha? And the period between 1967-70 was the most creative and productive of her career.

I have brought together everything Aretha did in the period and chosen the best tracks which did not appear on 1971's Aretha's Greatest Hits.

There's a lot of great stuff to choose from, of course, but I'm very happy with the result - some well known tracks, but enough lesser-known ones to make it interesting:

01 Oh No Not My Baby
02 Don't Let Me Lose This Dream
03 Share Your Love With Me
04 When the Battle Is Over
05 You And Me
06 Soul Serenade
07 Think
08 It Ain't Fair
09 Ain't No Way
10 That's All I Want From You
11 See Saw
12 I'll Never Be Free
13 (Sweet Sweet Baby) Since You've Been Gone
14 Save Me
15 I Can't See Myself Leaving You
16 Baby, Baby, Baby
17 Ain't Nobody (Gonna Turn Me Around)
18 Never Let Me Go

It makes a great album, if I say so myself.

You can find a FLAC version on my bulletin board, here:

All my other compilations are there too.

MARVELETTES - HERE I AM BABY: SELECTED TRACKS 1961-69

https://workupload.com/file/TBqKG6yRQBh

The Marvelettes started their career on a high, scoring Motown's first #1 on the pop charts - Please Mr Postman in 1961. Things went slightly off the boil for a while after they turned down Where Did Our Love Go, which went on to be a massive hit for the Supremes, in whose shadow they remained to some extent.

The Marvelettes subsequently had several hits (a total of 23 top 100 hits in the US, 10 of them making the top 40), and are generally considered to be cooler than the Supremes by experts in these matters. They certainly made some great records

I have not excluded the hits from consideration for this compilation, which is what I would usually do. The Marvelettes had only one chart entry in the UK (When You're Young And In Love got to number 13 in 1967), and you don't often hear their records these days, so this is my personal choice of everything they did, which I hope others will also enjoy.

01 That's How Heartaches Are Made
02 Little Girl Blue
03 Too Many Fish In The Sea
04 Too Hurt To Cry, Too Much In Love To Say Goodbye
05 Tonight Was Made For Love
06 You're The One
07 Rainy Mourning
08 He Was Really Sayin' Somethin'
09 Locking Up My Heart
10 When You're Young And In Love
11 Don't Make Hurting Me A Habit
12 Don't Mess With Bill
13 Why Must You Go
14 Danger Heartbreak Dead Ahead
15 Here I Am Baby
16 Please Mr. Postman
17 Barefootin'
18 I'll Kee[ Holding On
19 The One Who Really Loves You
20 The Hunter Gets Captured By The Game

If you go to my bulletin board, here:

tinyurl.com/easilyconfused

you can get a FLAC version, and also browse all my other compilations.
