"In the fertile terrain of New Zealand's 1980s post-punk scene, few figures loom as large as the Jefferies brothers. Graeme Jefferies and Peter Jefferies – the primary forces behind This Kind of Punishment – wrote some of the best music to come out on Flying Nun, Xpressway or elsewhere. A dizzying mix of pastoral ballads and DIY experimentation, TKP's songwriting was at once classic and acutely raw." (Superior Viaduct press release, 2016).
Less jangle... more drone, howl and clangour, This Kind of Punishment remain an underground concern yet few can compete with the scale and quality of the Jefferies brothers' ongoing contributions to New Zealand independent music.

Still available on my blog:

Yesterday, when I wrote a message, I must have been a bit sleepy and I put it in the wrong thread ! So let's start again .....
Many thanks to @Ramone 666 and @AC for their recent Flying Nun avalanche.
On a geographically similar note, would anyone be able to help me find anything by Brisbane band, Ups and Downs ?
I saw them play several times in their early days ( mid-80's ) and would like to reacquaint with their sound.
Thanks.
Thanks!
Thank you, really appreciate the Yoko stuff. Approximately Infinite Universe is really a great album.
Thanks Sorgual for the Nova's.
this is the second day trying to download your BPB from Buzzheavier that my computer totally locked up. Any chance that someone could repost these to Pixeldrain or Workupload?
