…and now for something completely different! 2100 - 2023

These fucking politicians, warlords and religious... They don't know that they are as superfluous as telephone disinfectors and hairdressers! - RYP

We have a first entry each day that is a picture or a video, and only in that entry you can place your music links and requests (NO ALBUMS RELEASED IN 2021 AND AFTER, AND A DAILY LIMIT OF 3 ALBUMS AND NO REQUESTS FOR FLAC OR OTHER LOSSLESS, IF YOU WANT FLAC, BUY THE ALBUM)! Here you can say what you like, unless it's offensive, racist or discriminatory! Please keep your language polite and respectful. All other official posts will only allow comments related to the official posts and such. That way it will keep things much more organized and tidy. Enjoy! RYP and Gyro1966 and Gaius R.I.P.

from "https://albumsiwishexisted2.blogspot.com/".

When I wrote this post I had lost contact with this blog for a long time. Writing this prompted me to find it again. I would normally post a link to the blog but, as all his links are in one .pdf so he doesn't have any music on the site, it's easier to post a link here rather than expect everyone to search through a 76 page document to find one link.

Having said that, I spent two days doing just that, trawling through the site and the pdf, finding a number of interesting looking albums compiled by the blogholder, comprising unissued albums, singles, b-sides & demo collections, pre-fame demo tapes or compilation albums (similar to my "Bits & Pieces" collections) of favourite guitarists, Lowell George and Ollie Halsall being the two most prized.

It's well worth a visit. The link to the .pdf of all the links is on the right hand side, under "NO MUSIC IS STORED ON THIS SITE". It took me a while to find it.

I agree, Lisa's site is a great resource for some fine and unusual music. It is also a great source for really appalling cover art. I sometimes look at the album sleeves on the site and wonder whatever were they thinking. Having said that, the more recent posts aren't that bad, but keep moving down and you'll see some real shockers.

Many thanks for the Dudley Moore albums, very much appreciated. I have fond memories of attending a performance of 'Beyond The Fringe' back in the early 60s. Sadly, Alan Bennett is the only surviving member of the quartet of extremely talented chaps who starred in what was a ground-breaking piece of theatre. Dud, Peter Cooke and Jonathan Miller are long gone. I once owned an album of the show, but it has long since disappeared into the black hole wherein vinyl was cast. Great stuff. Cheers :-)

I hope you're doing alright healthwise. I try to stay away from hospital as much as I can although it's getting more difficult as I get older.

Enjoy

Thank you very much for the rest of the dynasty. I could not find them and I am very happy with your accomplishment.
Not to bother you, or anybody else, but it is, for me, unclear which version this is.
The duration of the tracks is roughly the same as on the original LP, except for track 4, which is shorter in the download.
CD tracks have longer duration.
So, I will simply enjoy the music and forget about these things.
And again a big thanks for your research.

BigGrey,

I posted,

[Thanks for the Dudley Moore.
But you posted,
"Nichols and May are from before my time and, until you asked, I'd never heard of them."
Not at all before your time.]

Note, I did not dispute your word that you had never heard of them.
My point was that. although you may well have never been aware of them, they were not entirely before your time.
In fact Elaine May was still working in 2021.Nike Nichols last directed in 2007.
No offense intended.
As it happened they released 4 albums together in the early part of their careers.

Improvisations to Music (1958) Mercury[93]
An Evening with Mike Nichols and Elaine May (1960) Mercury
Mike Nichols & Elaine May Examine Doctors (1961) Mercury
In Retrospect (1962) Polygram, compilation, re-released as compact disc in 1996

If any TZ has any of those, both myself and BigGrey, for two, would probably be interested.
Oh, and also thanks for Lorne Greene. One of his was one of the first 3 albums I ever bought.
For his version of 16 tons.
Keep 'em coming!
