John Blair is acclaimed as one of the foremost historians and performers of instrumental Surf. His book The Illustrated Discography of Surf Music and band Jon & The Nightriders ushered in the "Second Wave," which continues to grow and spread today. He has also written The Illustrated Discography of Hot Rod Music 1960-1966, Southern California Surf Music and countless articles and liner notes.
